What I’d really like to do is take a time machine, like Bill and Ted, and bring an iPod. I’d visit Beethoven and— once we got over the initial magic of the device and explained to him where the music was coming from— just play everything. Everything afterwards: Bruckner, Chopin, Wagner, Berlioz, and up to Webern. Then Slayer, Throbbing Gristle. I would really like to get his reaction. I imagine some of that stuff would be met with enthusiasm.
